An Occult Crimes Investigation Unit Mystery #1: Sorcery Squad
Set in London of the near future Sorcery Squad introduces us to the latest offshoot of the Special Crimes Directorate: the Occult Crimes Investigation Unit. DCI Amanda Oliver leads a team of specialist investigators tracking down the criminals behind occult related crimes in the capitol. Each member of the team has an area of expertise ranging from Taoism and alchemy to voodoo and chaos ‘magick’.
As the criminal underworld increasingly turns to magic and sorcery so the police must draw on their own expertise in the field of ‘altered states technology’ to fight back.
Story Synopsis
Two charred bodies are found in a burnt out furniture shop and what should have been a routine murder enquiry turns into the first major case for OCIU. When the evidence points to the fire breaking out during a demonic conjuration DCI Amanda Oliver is called in to investigate. What she and her team uncover is a bizarre world of secret societies and ancient alchemical tradition and a conspiracy that leads to the heart of power in the European Union.
