Here's one prepared earlier!

by jamie_gregory @ 31. May 2006 - 15:04:53

I have another video in production at the moment but there is a delay whilst I get clearance on the soundtrack (very legal!). It will be a memorial piece to commemorate the death of artist & magician Austin Osman Spare on 15th May 1956.

In the meantime apologies for re-hashing old clips. Here's another one from my friend Martin made for his mum (he's so caring!), about a trip to Camden Lock Market on 1st May.

Now for our monthly competition: How many times does Martin say the phrase "So there you go"? No prizes as usual; but you can leave a post with your answer.

Look out too for a revelation about dolphins, the stuff they don't tell you in National Geographic!

Don't go down to the Basement!

Couldn't resist Dean!

Take the quiz:
Which Dead Rock Star Are You?

Joey Ramone
You are Joey Ramone! Hey, ho, lets go! Yeah, you're a happy little one, aren't you? Joey was dying and yet he did a cover of What A Wonderful World. You can't get more poppy than that. A hero, you are. Oh, he died in 2001 from cancer, poor guy.

City of London stroll

by jamie_gregory @ 29. May 2006 - 09:57:49

Thought I'd make a change from the poetry for a moment and give a change of scene.

This one is borrowed from my friend Martin and is his video of a trip round the City of London made for his mum (Ahh!)

My thanks to him for this loan. Enjoy!

Through all the days Earths smaller sister toils on her way,
On her paths thru the sky steady movements , no delay.
Her cycle done she sets out once more,
Illuminating an ancient cosmic Law.

O night’s luminary O talisman of night,
Reflecting down from above a gentle lustre light.
As the Thrice-Great Hermes said ‘As above, below’,
The imaginations quickens and the dark begins to show.

All nature of gods and spirits the door is open wide,
And music can be heard and cries from beasts outside.
Fires from the witch’es Sabbath the curious do entice,
Old hags grab stranger’s hands and lead them to dance.

Strange saints look down from grey cathedral walls,
Below the white-robed priest lifts his voice and calls.
The chalice is filled the fluid surface bright,
From nine long casements shines the silver lunar light.

Just Do It!

Isn't it funny these short imperative statements appear all over the place. Often part of a polemic like this one:

S4020677

(It's located outside Baker Street Station in London by the way).

I came up with one of my own:

FOOD

BUY! COOK! EAT!

See if you can come up with some of your own and leave a post...er..only if you want to...of course!

ALBUS

ALBUS

Each day the Ibis-headed god brings,
A new world out from the sea of sleep – he sings,
The infinite things spring from his lips anew
Fully-formed: A blue sky and mossy dew.

With flashing knife he chisels out all detail,
Never to forget a tree or house on hill or vale.
As far as the ear can hear and eye can see,
Within this fleshy repository – this world is known.

Out of that nothing even ear, eye and body,
Spring forth as on that first, sixth day.
God gave Adam the task to name what He made.
In time his sons forgot- those names strayed.
Thus men bow down before false idols,
And chases after them as dogs chase their own tails.

A cold wind blows thru earthy tomb,
Six Empty eyes give call,
Grey bearded guide – mage form assumes,
For questions, answers all.

High priestess to forgotten god,
All sacrifices shall,
Lend virtue to the seeded sod,
Within the halls of Bal.

Twix-t birth and death forms live their lives,
Walk, fly, swim, laugh and cry,
Below the worms do analyse,
The complex where they lie.

The Midgard snake who bites his tail,
A dance that knows no end,
Lofty thoughts break on the shale,
And to their source do bend.

Who sups from Lethe forgets the man,
His life is left behind,
He follows the gypsy caravan,
The pied dog leads the blind.

The Heart’s a stage with noises off,
Hidden in the wings.
What conjurings will break the hex,
And rouse from slumberings.

Far away in the forest of night,
The mask with golden eyes,
The diviner by the firelight,
Forecasts the next sunrise!

An Epping Forest Journey

Muddy boots and a good afternoon's hike. Thanks to M & K for a companionable journey thorough Epping Forest, just east of the City of London.

Geomantic Figure - PUER

PUER

Marching through the merry month of May,
The forest disrobes from shortened winter’s day,
Deep within its keep in a clearing of old,
The congregants do gather, the wine begins to flow.

The bonfires are lit the dancers hand in hand,
Awaiting the first strains from the musician’s band.
As the first notes are played the revellers a-leap,
From gnarled wintered bowers the green shoots do peep.

Within the forest’s heart great Pan begins to stir,
An atavistic frenzy in hearts of feather and fur.
From the tree-tops to the burrows the story is the same,
The forest-dwellers play the initiator’s game.

The Ram-headed god this day he starts to knead,
Fashioning the vessels to carry this year’s seed.
Across the open sky does heaven’s serpent chase,
To clasp the burning cup within its hot embrace.

Where in the World is this?

by jamie_gregory @ 09. May 2006 - 21:03:40

Here is something nice and soothing for when you want to chill-out and slow down a bit. But where in the world are these places?

No special prizes for correct guessing but feel free to hazard a guess and leave a post if you wish!
